The Office of Student Academic Services (OSAS) Mission:

In support of the Shidler College of Business mission, the Office of Student Academic Services seeks to provide all students with programs and student support services that assists them in reaching their fullest potential. Through the integration of classroom and out of classroom experiences, The Office of Student Academic Services advances the learning and personal growth of students by providing leadership, services, and opportunities that give them the necessary tools to succeed in and contribute to a diverse and global society.

Current Students

For current UH-Manoa students(of sophomore standing or above) or transfer students to UH-Manoa trying to gain admission to the Shidler College of Business, you may schedule a one-on-one appointment with the admission counselor by contacting the Office of Student Academic Services in BusAd B-101 at (808) 956-8215. During busy periods like registration and the first couple of weeks of each semester, however, advisors are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For current or incoming UH-Manoa freshmen students, you are encouraged to attend one of the Freshmen Advising Sessions held in the Fall semester.

Prospective Students

Academic advisers at the College's Office of Student Academic Services (OSAS) assist students with program planning and course selection, transferring credits earned elsewhere, studying abroad, graduation procedures and other educational opportunities, resources, and options.

Robert Bachini

Robert Bachini joined the Office of Student Academic Services as the Undergraduate Coordinator. He has over 11 years of professional experience as an instructor, counselor and administrator.

Most recently, he served as the program coordinator for at-risk students at UH Windward Community College and from 1996-1998, Bachini coordinated the Native Hawaiian Vocational Educational Program at UH Honolulu Community College.

He is also currently an adjunct professor in the Master of Science Counseling Psychology program at Chaminade University and is pursuing a PhD in Education Administration with the College of Education at UH Manoa.

Bachini graduated from California State University, Los Angeles and received a master’s degree in counseling and additional course work with a specialization in school psychology.

Rikki Mitsunaga

Rikki Mitsunaga joined the Office of Student Academic Services as the Undergraduate Academic Advisor. She brings over 17 years of academic advising and career counseling experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as 12 years of experience in international student services and exchange program development.

Mitsunaga worked for the University of Oklahoma and the University of Maryland. At the University of Maryland, she was the Senior Field Coordinator for the United Kingdom in the European Division and was commended for outstanding service.

In the past 12 years, she worked for HPU as the Associate Director of International Admission, Transcript Evaluations and Articulation Agreements. During her time at HPU she was extensively involved in the international student recruitment and international marketing efforts.

Mitsunaga received her BA in psychology and sociology from the University of Hawai‘i at Maˉnoa and her master of public administration from the University of Oklahoma with additional post graduate course work focused on education and international relations. Rikki is currently pursuing a PhD in Education Administration with the College of Education at UH Manoa.

Reid Kuioka

Reid was born and raised on Oahu. He is an alumnus of the Shidler College of Business with a BBA in Management Information Systems.

He spent the last four years working in Japan: 1 year on the JET program teaching English at a high school in Fukuoka, and 3 years teaching at a university in Osaka.

Upon his return home to the islands, Reid served as the Leadership Development Coordinator in the Office of Student Life at Hawaii Pacific University, where he was responsible for advising student leaders and organizations, and helping plan events and activities for the student body.

Reid has joined the Office of Student Academic Services as the Undergraduate Admissions Counselor. He looks forward to sharing his experiences and advising prospective Shilder College of Business students in any way possible about the undergraduate program.
