How does the videoconferencing technology work?
The program employs the latest technology in videoconferencing utilizing video and audio over the Internet to provide live interaction among multiple sites simultaneously. One of its features allows the systems to operate by voice activation. For example, if a person from Kauai is asking a question during class, the system broadcasts the image of the student to all other sites, and then switches to the next person speaking, and so forth.
The technology also incorporates multimedia capabilities that enable the instructors to enhance their lectures with DVD presentations, PowerPoint slides, and overhead documents, and so forth.
