Materials must be postmarked March 1st. Materials submitted after this date will not be considered.

Though application supplemental material may be postmarked on March 1st, and considered meeting the deadline the GMAT/GRE scores must be received by March 1st. If scores are not received by the application deadline of March 1, the application is considered incomplete and will not be considered by the Admissions Committee.

No. The M.B.A. is not a required first step in pursuit of the PhD, and the PhD is not master's work at a higher level. M.B.A and PhD course requirements are distinct.

Financial support for students are available in the form of a research or teaching assistantship. All admitted applicants may apply for these positions. An assistantship consists of 20 hours a week of research work with assigned faculty in the Shidler College of Business. An assistantship includes a full tuition waiver valued at $20,000 USD as well as a stipend of $17,496 USD. Eligibility for this assistantship is reviewed at the end of each academic year based on satisfactory performance. Candidates are encouraged to seek funding or co-funding from other institutions.

Do you offer a part-time, weekend, evening, or distance-learning option?
No. The IMPhD Program is a full-time program with courses only available at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa campus.

Applicants to the program have an average GMAT score of 665. However, we understand that a standardized test score is only one indicator of an applicant's qualification and thus review a candidate's suitability to the program against the background of his or her application package as a whole.

Graduates of U.S. universities and colleges are not required to take the TOEFL. If your school is located outside the U.S., the University of Hawaii requires you to provide documentation which affirms your university's use of English as its primary language of instruction. Without such documentation, a TOEFL score will be necessary.
