One of the most important concerns involving real estate is to be aware of legal issues unique to Hawai’i  ‘aina. This course helps the student understand the framework of environmental regulations affecting businesses in Hawai’i.  The course will take the perspective of a developer working in Hawaii in the context of land use and environmental laws and issues.  Attention will be paid to cases involving such past and present controversies as the Super Ferry, rapid transit, and resort development on the North Shore of Oahu. No prerequisites are required.
