The Finance Department helps students gain the analytical skills necessary for managing financial resources, and evaluating the risk and return consequences of financial decisions. Faculty members teach finance and real estate courses within all of the academic and professional programs offered at the Shidler College of Business.
Undergraduate students may choose to major in finance as a part of Shidler’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. The Finance Department offers one required course for all BBA students (FIN 311 – Investments) and a variety of undergraduate finance electives. Students majoring in finance must complete four finance electives and may choose to focus their studies on one of six finance tracks:
- Asian Finance
- Investment Management (CFA Track)
- Corporate Finance
- Real Estate Finance
- Financial Services & Planning (CFP® Track)
- Insurance & Risk Management
