Knowing that study abroad provides many unique opportunities for me to gain exposure of a different culture, I consider the experience as an essential transformation for me to be a global citizen. Studying abroad will be a defining step in moving me forward towards my academic, professional, and personal goals in the university. During my time abroad, I plan to take business courses at ESC Rennes School of Business, at the same time connecting with the local people, culture, and values. While I can find myself actively engage in the local community as a exemplary representative from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, I hope to make this a memorable learning experience for many years to come.

Studying abroad in France for a whole semester will allow me to immerse myself in a culture completely different from Hawaii. I am excited to discover a world beyond our islands to gain a broader perspective, experience new cultures, meet people from all over the world, and learn more about myself. I cannot express how grateful I am for the opportunity to study abroad, and can’t wait for all that I will gain from this experience.

From a young age I have always wanted to travel internationally and I am excited to be spending my Spring 2020 semester studying in Seville, Spain. Some of my goals while abroad are to increase my Spanish fluency and learn more about part of my family's heritage. I am grateful for the opportunity to be immersed in a new culture and look forward to challenging myself, making new friends, and traveling around Europe.

I look forward to expanding my global perspective, learning more about Spanish culture, as well as creating some unforgettable memories. I hope to push myself outside of my comfort zone by learning/speaking a new language, building friendships with a diverse group of people as well as work to improve myself both academically and professionally as an international business student.

While abroad I hope to lose myself in traveling to new unknown places while at the same time find myself as a further developed professional, academic, and social individual. I look forward to the challenge of solving problems on my own and becoming more self reliant whether it's asking for directions, putting together a study group with strangers, overcoming language barriers, or missing a flight. I know my newfound skills in solving problems and last minute changes will be useful in my future in the business world.
