UH Professor Stephen Vargo named one of the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds

Vargo from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Shidler College of Business has once again been named to Thomson Reuters’ World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds for 2016. This is Vargo’s third consecutive year selected as a top cited researcher in the field of marketing.

Kakehashi Project helps students develop a greater understanding of the Japanese culture and economy

The Kakehashi Project provided an amazing field study experience for 23 graduate and undergraduate students from the Shidler College of Business. Within a month of being selected to participate in the program, students were quickly briefed on Japanese etiquette, culture and language before departing to Tokyo and Hokkaido.

PACE Shark Tank celebrates innovation at the University of Hawai‘i

A team of mechanical engineering students took home the top prize in the PACE Shark Tank competition for their innovative Nimbus idea. Nimbus is an atmospheric water generator system that filters and captures naturally occurring water vapor and condenses it into usable water in one step without power. In total, the team was awarded $1,000.

The Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa received a gift of $150,000 for scholarships from the Hawaii-based companies of Saltchuk Resources, Inc., based in Seattle, Washington. The Hawaii-based companies are Foss Hawaii, Aloha Air Cargo, Hawaii Petroleum, Minit Stop, and Young Brothers.
