SOA Classrooms

Wireless internet access is used extensively at the Shidler College of Business, provided bt the University of Hawai‘i's Information Technology Services. For many classes, students are encouraged to bring their own device (laptop, ipad, etc) to access relevant sources and class materials.

SOA students study in updated classrooms in Shidler. All classrooms are equipped with computer projection systems for powerpoint lectures and web access, and include an ELMO for displaying hard copy materials in front of the classroom.

The KPMG Accounting Research Center (ARC) (Shidler G201) is open to accounting students, faculty, and professionals. The ARC provides the necessary environment for conducting meetings, research, workshops, presentations and other similar events.  Each semester Beta Alpha Psi conducts tutoring for several undergraduate accounting courses in this room.

The PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Room (Shidler G-301) is used for SOA faculty meetings and graduate accounting students. Director of the UH School of Accountancy Hamid Pourjalali explained, “The development of the PWC Room is a model for collaboration between the University and the business community. PricewaterhouseCoopers has set the standard for innovative public-private partnerships, enabling the UH School of Accountancy graduates to effectively compete in the global marketing place.”

Additionally, accounting students use college facilities, such as the Lum Yip Kee room (Shidler E-401), graduate computer lab in (Shidler E-501), and the netlab (E-201).
