Student Onboarding Orientation: School of Travel Industry Management

We wanted to come up with a unique way to honor and celebrate your hard work and achievements.  In addition to our virtual orientation, we put together a welcome video to share with your family, friends and classmates at home.  We hope it gives you a sense of accomplishment and pride and inspires you to pursue your life’s passion. 




Thank you for participating in our Onward with TIM New Student Onboarding events. We hope that our orientation video series will help with your transition to University of Hawaiʻi at Manoā, Shidler College of Business as a Travel Industry Management (TIM) major!


Please be sure you complete the following:

  1. Watch our orientation video series below and complete the quiz here! The deadline to complete the quiz is:

    • September 1 (fall semester)

    • February 1 (spring semester)

  2. Attend the TIM New Student Onboarding Virtual Mixer (attendance will be taken). Check your email for registration links and more information.

  3. Attend Shidler student club recruitment week.

    Academic Requirements

    Meet one of your academic advisors: Carissa! Also, learn more about your academic requirements as a TIM major, including: general education and major course requirements and using STAR to track your progress to degree, plan your academic timeline, and register for classes. Please schedule an appointment with an academic advisor via STAR Balance to discuss your individualized academic plans in more detail.
