Walter Dods, Jr., Jay H. Shidler, donate Akaji sculpture to UH Mānoa’s RISE

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa alumni Walter Dods, Jr. and Jay H. Shidler have gifted a sculpture by the late Bumpei Akaji to their alma mater. The sculpture, “RISE,” was installed outside the Walter Dods, Jr. RISE Center, and dedicated in a special ceremony prior to the official grand opening of the center on June 15.

The Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE) at the Shidler College of Business is the home for an integrated set of leading-edge entrepreneurship programs at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. PACE is dedicated to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit among all members of the university and local community.

1st gen Shidler alumna endows $100K scholarship to honor parents

A new scholarship for full-time undergraduate business students has been created at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Shidler College of Business. The UH Foundation announced that Shidler alumna Linh PhamBBA ‘00, and her husband Dao Pham have contributed $100,000 to establish the Cindy Doan and Hy So Duong Endowed Scholarship.
