On April 26 2023, the final round of the Medical Innovation & Design Competition (MIND), an annual competition held by the John A. Burns School of Medicine, took place at the Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children. Many doctors, physicians and medical students came to this competition to listen to the projects presented by different teams. The Heart2Hear team won the First Prize in this competition with their project about using AI for heart sound classification. The Heart2Hear team includes:

- Quang Loc Lam, PhD student in ITM at Shidler College of Business.

- Erin Evangelista, medical student at John A. Burns School of Medicine.

- Jonathan Hu, medical student at John A. Burns School of Medicine.
