The Management and Industrial Relations (MIR) Department provides courses in the areas of management, organizational behavior, human resource management, and international management. We have two degrees at the BBA level - Management and Human Resource Management. Also, we house the international management major as a double major option. In Spring 2002, a new degree, an executive Master of Human Resource Management was made available.
Our faculty's expertise tends to mirror the thrust of the Shidler College of Business and the University of Hawaii at Manoa with extensive research on Asia-Pacific business. This is reflected in many articles in major business journals, scholarly books and courses on topics such as Japanese, Chinese and Korean business systems.
In addition, the faculty have been actively involved in executive training programs through the Hawaii Management Program, Executive MBA program and Japan - and China-Focused MBA program, where participants include individuals from Korea, Japan and other Asian countries.
