Courses Taught
Alice is a part-time lecturer in the School of Travel Industry Management at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Her full-time position is as a multimedia instructional designer supporting faculty and staff across the UH System at the UH Online Innovation Center (UHOIC). Her instructional design interests lie in the areas of education and emerging technology (e.g., AI), learning and development, and humanizing the online teaching and learning, which intersect with her hospitality interests of human resources, information technology, beverage education, and training & development.
Prior to her move to Hawaiʻi and transition to the education sector, Alice worked in the food and beverage and hospitality industry. She co-owned a bakery with her husband and operated a cake decorating business while studying to be a sommelier and working in restaurants and wine shops with award-winning wine lists. During her time in Las Vegas, she worked for MGM Resorts International where she led a team consulting with various departments and properties to develop online trainings and professional development for employees. She has also taught a number of hospitality and food and beverage courses for University of Nevada, Las Vegas Kapiʻolani Community College, and Windward Community College in subjects such as hospitality, beverage education, human resources, and information technology.
