Club Management Association of America (CMAA)

Club Overview:

The Club Management Association of America, or CMAA, is a student organization at the University of Hawai’i Club where students can learn more about the private club industry. Most TIM students are only aware of hotels and the transportation industry, but many are not exposed to the “hidden gem” that is private clubs. Through CMAA, we’re given access to exclusive properties and professionals from country clubs and yacht clubs in O’ahu and around the nation. Activities we host range from networking events, property tours, volunteer opportunities, and a chance to go to the mainland for the CMAA World Conference. CMAA has a parent chapter composed of professionals in the private club industry that we closely work with. They are very involved with our student members and want to provide any help and support in our professional journey. Our members are not held to a certain requirement in which they have to go to a certain number of activities to become an “active member”. Our philosophy is that you get out what you put in and so as you continue to go to different events, the more experiences you gain and the more professionals you meet that could give you access behind closed doors in the future.
