Lenna V. Shulga, is an Associate Professor in Hospitality at the School of Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Her areas of expertise are hospitality human resources management and organizational behavior.

Dr. Shulga’s research interests lie in the areas of services management: employee motivation, employee engagement, service climate, consumer behavior, service interactions between front-line employees and customers. She has published in Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Administration and Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management.

Dr. Shulga received her Ph.D. in Hospitality Management from the William F. Harrah’s College of Hotel Management at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas; and M.B.A. from University of Massachusetts.

Prior to joining the TIM School, Dr. Shulga has taught courses in hospitality human resources management, organizational behavior, hospitality and tourism marketing at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In addition to her teaching experience, Dr. Shulga has extensive industry experience. She worked with Extended Stay America Hotels in New England, Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites in Peabody, MA, Kendall Hotel and Mary Prentiss Inn in Cambridge, MA, Hotel 140 in Boston, MA, Essex Conference Center in Essex, MA, and Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA.
