The Shidler Alumni Association’s (SAA) annual Dine Around event was attended by nearly 100 alumni and friends on August 21 at the International Market Place in Waikiki. The unique networking event is an opportunity for alumni and friends to mix and mingle in a casual environment, as well as make new meaningful business connections.
The signature round-robin style of the event pairs attendees into six groups that rotate at three restaurants, paired with a new group at each location as they sample food and beverage offerings and socialize. Featured restaurants this year included Herringbone, Stripsteak and Shorefrye. Each restaurant showcased its most popular fare and libations, including kalua pork and clam flatbread, prime New York striploin and twice-baked potato with greens, Kahuku style garlic shrimp and assorted wines, beers and signature craft cocktails.
“It was exciting to see so many of our alumni at the event,” said Tyson Yamada, Shidler Alumni Association president. “This is really an opportunity for our alumni and their guests to come together for networking, fellowship and fun. We enjoy seeing everyone and always have a lot of fun as everyone catches up with their classmates, associates and new friends. It’s always a great opportunity to enjoy a night out and try some of Hawaii’s hottest new restaurants.”
Be sure to look out for upcoming Shidler events, including the SAA’s signature Executive Vineyards 20th anniversary event happening on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the historic Royal Hawaiian.
