Partner Schools

While looking for classes to take abroad, please keep the following in mind:

  • Shidler Residency: to meet residency requirements for graduation, students must take from Shidler College of Business a minimum of 8 business courses (24 credits) which includes 3 courses (9 credits) within each major. In the case of multiple majors, students must take from Shidler College of Business a minimum of 3 major courses (9 credits) for each major. Students should consult with their academic advisor if they are uncertain about how many courses and which courses they can transfer from the host institution to meet their degree requirements.
  • Partner University Course List: the course equivalency lists are provided for your convenience but it does not indicate which semester the course is being offered nor the prerequisites required by the partner institution. Students should refer to the partner school’s website.
  • BUS 367 Alpha Legend: The course designations for BUS 367 are as follows:

Chulalongkorn University, officially established in 1917, is Thailand’s most prestigious institution of higher education. The Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy has approximately 130 full-time faculty and 3,000 students. It offers three bachelors degrees and four masters degrees.

Student exchange is open to undergraduate students for the fall or spring semesters. On-campus housing is available.

City University of Hong Kong

City U is a comprehensive research facility with high academic standards. The College of Business is one of the top business schools in the Asia Pacific region. With state-of-the art facilities, exchange students are able to enjoy student life in China with the comforts of western cities.

Committed to excellence and innovation in teaching, City U utilizes video conferencing and internet applications to allow exchange students to learn and interact with their peers from around the world.

Copenhagen Business School

Copenhagen Business School is one of the major business schools in Europe. It is a member of the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS). The language of instruction is English. Semesters begin in September or February. A free one-week intensive course in Danish is provided by CBS in mid-August or mid-January. Varied housing options are available.

ESC Rennes School of Business

ESC Rennes School of Business was founded in 1990 and is based in Rennes, France. ESC Rennes School of Business offers educational services. The institution provides masters degrees and executive training programs. It offers courses in international business, accounting, finance, marketing, and business negotiation. Additionally, the institution provides human resource and sports, leisure, and tourism management courses.

Fudan University is a school that has a tradition of excellence and aism to develop and innovate into the future, as well as developing talent, ability, and integrity. It was the first institution of higher education in China to teach Business Administration. Fudan's School of Management has shaped some disciplines and research areas having academic influence both locally and abroad. It became a part of many prestigious international organizations for business education in order to promote the exchanges and cooperative research with the world's top business schools and develop more diversified global resources.

Hitotsubashi University is a national university corporation established in 1875. Since its foundation, Hitotsubashi has been at the forefront of Japan's innovation. It has been a powerhouse for generations of Japan's globally active business leaders as well as a research hub producing cutting-edge research in the global academic network.

This is a Non-AACSB Accredited Institution. Students enrolling in any business core class (i.e., BUS 310 thru BUS 315) must take a separate ethics ("E" Focus) class to fulfill UH Manoa's "E" Focus graduation requirement.


Keio University

Keio is located in Tokyo and Kanagawa, one of the world's largest major metropolitan areas. Offering a wide-rage of academic programs for undergraduate and graduate students.

The exchange program helps students gain a practical understanding of Japanese business and develop managerial skills. Selected courses are offered in English; however, preference is given to students who speak and read Japanese so they may enroll in other courses in Keio’s MBA program. On-campus housing is available.

Korea University

Korea University (KU) is centrally located in Seoul, Korea. It is one of the top three universities in Korea. KU Business School has recently undergone major renovations, with a new state-of-art building opening in summer 2003.

The new building will be the home to the electronic library and the Digital Lounge, which houses many online databases and the latest information on financial analyst reports and global economic data.

Exchange opportunities are available for both undergraduate and graduate levels and are open for students in the fall or spring semesters. On-campus housing is available.

National University of Singapore

The National University of Singapore is one of the most well-known universities in Asia. In 2000, NUS’s MBA program ranked second in AsiaWeek’s Asia’s Best MBA schools. It’s business school is highly ranked in a number of other publications.

The language of instruction is English. The fall semester runs from July to November, and the Spring semester runs from January to May.

The Business School offers courses which parallel those in the Shidler College of Business, and also offers courses focusing on Asian business which will benefit U students. It is important to note that Business modules at NUS are extremely competitive, and incoming exchange students are always urged to be as flexible as possible with their module (class) choices.

Major departments are Business Policy, Decision Sciences, Finance and Accounting, Marketing, Management and Organization, and Human Resources Management.

    Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), boasts a rich history and tradition which dates back to the Business School of Nan Yang Public School founded in 1903. After over 30 years of unremitting efforts, ACEM has established itself as a modern business school with a good reputation home and abroad, and the first business school in mainland China to have been accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA, the three largest and most influential business school accreditation associations in the world.

    Thammasat University

    Thammasat University is one of the top universities in Thailand. Its business school, the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, is highly rated and produces top-quality graduates for various positions in Thailand.

    UH students will participate in the English-speaking BBA International program. The academic year is similar to that of U.S. universities.

    The campus is located in Bangkok, Thailand, on the east bank of the Chao Phray River. Housing is available off-campus.

    The University of Hong Kong's School of Business was established in 1995. The School of Business has expanded its variety of programs in terms of major and minor subjects, as well as enhanced its intake of the best and brightest local and non-local students. BBA single degree programs include Accounting & Finance, Human Resource Management, Management Studies, and Marketing and International Business and Global Management.

    Waseda University

    Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan is one of the top universities in Japan. Through its Center for International Education, it offers a number of courses for international students.

    Because of Waseda’s current semester schedule, UH students should consider a one-year exchange to Waseda. Fall semester is late September to mid-February; Spring semester is mid-February to the end of June.

    A variety of courses are offered in international business and Japanese to supplement your program. Open to undergraduate and graduate students.

    WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management

    Located in Vallender, Germany, WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management is one of the top business schools in Germany offering bachelors, masters and Ph.D. degrees. All of the graduate courses and 80% of the undergraduate courses are taught in English. The exchange program is open to students in the fall or spring semesters.

    Yonsei University

    Located in Seoul, Yonsei is the oldest university in Korea and the first to offer graduate programs in English. It is also recognized as one of the top three universities in Korea with its business school noted as one of the best in the country.

    The Division on International Education and the Graduate School of International Studies offer international programs and courses taught in English to over 250 visiting exchange students every year.
