Deadlines for Upper-level/Transfer Student Admission to Shidler^

*Students who apply by the Priority Deadline would receive a preliminary decision before the registration period begins for the following semester.

Continuing Classified UH Mānoa Students

Current UH Manoa undergraduates who want to declare a business major must (1) meet the admissions requirements and then (2) complete a Shidler application form to be eligible to be admitted to Shidler and declare a business major.

• Until they are ready to apply to Shidler, if they wish to declare themselves as Exploratory Business ("pre-business"), they can complete a major change form.
  • The benefits of being Exploratory Business include STAR GPS Registration being pre-loaded with required and recommended courses, and having access to advisors in STAR Balance (Manoa Advising Center, for all Exploratory Business majors of any year, or Shidler Admissions [college students of any major, or Exploratory Students who have completed at least 45 credits] who are familiar with the Exploratory Business curriculum.)
• Students apply the semester before desired entry into a BBA major. Most students are enrolled in their final admission requirement(s) at the time of application.

Transfer, 2nd Degree or Unclassified UH Mānoa Students

Applicants who are not current UH Manoa students must (1) meet the admissions requirements and (2) apply to both UH Manoa and Shidler separately (Note that UH Manoa may have earlier deadlines to apply for maximum scholarship and financial aid consideration than our deadlines).

• Transfers should strive to apply by the priority deadline, especially for potential spring transfers. Transfer credit evaluation can take time, and missing credits/courses can result in being unable to enter the business program when desired.
• When should admission requirements be completed? Students apply the semester before desired entry into a BBA major if they have completed admission requirements. Most students are enrolled in their final admission requirement(s) at the time of application (i.e., it is not necessary to complete the requirements before applying, just to be enrolled in them at time of application; they do need to completed before being allowed to start the program, though).
• ^Fall applicants: We recognize that UH Manoa often has later application deadlines for fall than April 1, so some external transfers may be admitted to UH Manoa for fall after April 1. We consider applications after April 1 for fall transfers on a case-by-case basis, but it is generally in your best interest to apply by the priority deadline.
• International students who are not current UH Manoa students at the time of application must submit complete applications (i.e., applications, transcripts, etc.) to both UH Manoa and Shidler by the Priority Deadline.
